Men Choose Respect
Partnering with men to build safety and respect in their families, the Men Choose Respect Program is a 12 week program for men who want to stop the use of abuse in their personal relationships and choose respect as well as equality with their partners.
The Men Choose Respect group is a program that provides group sessions that support men as they make decisions to base their relationships on, such as safety, respect and caring.
Goals of the program
Our hope is that we increase the dignity of men and support them to choose respect.
Our hope is that together with men, we increase the safety of victims, children, and families.
Our hope is that we increase personal responsibility, agency, and self- management capacity of the group members.
Our hope is that our program will lead to a change in attitude and understanding towards the use of abuse in relationship.
Our hope is that we increase the use of behaviours that promote equality, respect and caring.
Our hope is that we support the use of skills for successful confl ict resolution, resolving of problems and negotiations of agreements.
Our hope is that men who participate in this meaningful work experience an increases in the quality of their relationships.

Who Is Eligible?
This comprehensive program is for men and persons who identify as men who want to change their use of abuse and violence towards intimate partners and contribute safety, respectful, caring relationships in their families.
This program is delivered to low to medium risk of risk of further violence. While priority may be given to men who are fathers and / or involved with MCFD, all men wanting to change their use to abuse in relationships can apply.
How to Refer
Men can self-refer to the program by calling ICS 778-470-8410. Community agencies such as MCFD, can email an ICS referral form, writing on or indicating the Men Choose Respect group and emailing it to the menchooserespect@interiorcommunityservices.bc.ca email. The ICS staff facilitators will respond back within 3 business days.
